Kelly Epplen, PharmD, CACP is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences at the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati. Dr. Epplen received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Cincinnati in 1995 and 1997, respectively. Her primary career focus has been the provision of pharmaceutical care to ambulatory patients as well as the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services in the ambulatory setting across multiple healthcare systems.
Dr. Epplen has been integrally involved in the development of policy and procedures related to billing for cognitive pharmacy services and is an active member of the Reimbursement Advisory Group for the Section of Home, Ambulatory, and Chronic Care Practitioners of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She has been a participating author in the revision of the ASHP Minimum Practice Standards in Ambulatory Care.
Dr. Epplen holds a non-tenure track faculty position with direct patient care responsibilities at the Family Medicine Practice Center of St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Northern Kentucky. She is currently the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director for St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
