  Research and Practice Interests

  My primary research interests are Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research. Other areas of interest include Adverse Drug Events and Drug-Drug interactions as well as Drug Utilization Review. Informatics and electronic delivery of drug information are additonal interest areas. I am a Faculty Research Fellow in the Institute of Health Policy and Health Services Research. I am a consultant pharmacist and have an active practie in revieiwng pharmacotherapy of seniors and other vulnerable persons. I recently completed a six year contract with the Medicaid Technical Assistance and Policy Program (MEDTAPP) to conduct Drug Utlization Reviews for the Ohio Department of Human Services Drug Utilization Review Board. As joint appointment faculty in Family Medicine, I work closely with the Office of Geriatric Medicine. In geriatrics research interests are in treatment of Alzheimer's and related dementias, depression, anxiety, osteoporosis, heart failure, peptic ulcer disease, anticoagulation,and pain control.

  Community of Science Research Interests

  My primary research interest is Pharmacoeconomics of providing Pharmaceutical Care and Disease Management. Detection of Adverse Drug Events and Drug-Drug interactions as well as Drug Utilization Review are special interests. I am a consultant pharmacist and have a large contract to conduct Drug Utlization Reviews for the Ohio Department of Human Services Drug Utilization Review Board. In the area of geriatrics my primary research interests are in treatment of depression, anxiety, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's Disease, heart failure, peptic ulcer disease, anticoagulation, epilepsy, and pain control. Informatics and electronic delivery of drug information is another area of interest.

  Other Experience and Professional Memberships

  08/08/2007 Workshop on Careers in Academia Pharm D candidates were invited to sit down and discuss their career interest in various fields of pharmacy with leaders in those fields. Grand Council Convention of Kappa Psi Professional Fraternity Boston MA
