Dr. Cavanaugh graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy in 2006. Following that, she completed a 1-year general practice residency at The University Hospital, The Health Alliance, Cincinnati, Ohio. She then participated in a 2-year fellowship studying health outcomes and pharmacoeconomics in a post transplant population, as well as completing a Master of Science degree in pharmacy administration at the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati. During this time, she met the requirements to become a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She currently is an assistant professor at the James L Winkle College of Pharmacy and is also appointed as a Research Pharmacist at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center. This position allows her to collabhorate on a multidisciplinary team performing outcomes research on children with end stage renal disease and status post kidney transplantation.
